Morning Schedule For The Children’s Home

No one is permitted at the home before 8:30.

8:30 – 9:00
La Diversión (Playtime)
  Children will play active games, run, and “be kids”. .They will be outside unless otherwise advised.
 

 

9:00 – 9:30
La Merinda (Snack, please bring with you)
  Snack Time – If the children are given foods to eat with forks or spoons, encourage them to use their utensils.
 
9:30 – 10:30

La Lección Biblica & Los Artes (Lesson and Crafts)

Teach the children Bible verses in English & Spanish. .Also, use this time to work on crafts. .The following schedule is only intended to be a sample lesson plan. .We encourage you to be creative while developing your plan, including your personal touch. .You are also welcome to utilize the bulletin board in the home.

Monday: “Ama a Dios” - “Love God” Mark 12:30
Tuesday: “Dios es bueno con nosotros” – “God is good with us” Psalms 73:1
Wednesday: “Jesus dijo: ustedes son mis amigos” “Jesus said: You all are my friends” John 15:14-15 --------------------------------------------------------------------Thursday: “Cantad a Dios” - “Sing to God” Psalms 147:7 Etc…

 
10:30 – 10:45

El Baño (Bathroom)

Encourage the children to take a bathroom break.

 
10:45 – 11:15

La Escuela (School)

Work with the children individually on their fine and gross motor skills and with their educational skills. .Some ideas are listed below:
Beans – The children will work on using their thumb and forefinger to place beans in a bowl.
Cereal – Offer cereal to the children with it placed between your thumb and forefinger. Only allow the children to accept it when they use their thumb and forefinger.
Coloring – The children will color their chosen page. .Have them focus on coloring in the lines.
Writing – On lined paper, create dots that the children will trace to write. .The children will practice writing their name or the first letter of their name.
Flash Cards – The children should be able to identify the letters of the alphabet and the word that begins with that letter.
Step Climbing – The children will climb up and down the stairs. .Work on having them do the task without using support from the railings or your hands.
Puzzles – It is a time to learn about shapes and colors and accomplish a task.
 
11:15 – 11:30
Las Canciones (Songs)
Sing songs with the children as a way to prepare them for Story Time. .The songs can be in English or Spanish, Christian or Secular. .Some ideas are: Jesus Loves Me, Deep & Wide, This Little Light of Mine, Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes
 
11:30– 12:00

El Cuento (Storytime)

 

Divide the children into two groups to read stories. .It is perfectly fine to speak and read to them in English

No one permitted in the home after 12:00. .This is lunchtime for both the children & yourself. .Following lunch is naptime. .On special occasions, you may be invited back to the home after naptime to play with the children.
