Estimated Costs

Below is a list of estimated expenses for the mission team:

The average cost of for a 1 week team to the Abraham Project falls anywhere from $500 to $650 per person. This amount includes all the group’s expenses except for mandatory evacuation insurance for each group member, airfare, souvenirs/miscellaneous personal expenses, and tips for drivers, baggage handlers at the airport, etc. The amount above is heavily influenced by group size, amount of traveling the group does, and fun day activity.

Medical Insurance: We require each team member to purchase insurance. The insurance that you purchase for the team must cover overseas medical emergencies and evacuation. The plan should include repatriation, which is basically emergency medical transportation back to the states in severe cases – even cases involving death while out of the country. Some teams in the past have used the Missionary Insurance Group, Inc. (see letter below). Please inform the Abraham Project Team Coordinator which insurance company you choose, with details of its coverage, before you come to Costa Rica.
